The Sierra wireless MC8780 embedded module offers faster download speeds than previous models, with peak data rates of up to 7.2 megabits per second (Mbps). In addition, it is the first Sierra wireless module designed for HSUPA networks, with uplink speeds more than five times faster than those available on current networks – up to 2 Mbps. The faster uplink speed is particularly important for customers who routinely send large files over the wirelessnetwork while mobile.
The LIFEBOOK P7230 is the first in the product line to migrate to the Sierra wireless HSUPA module and is expected to begin commercial shipments in Europe this summer.
